If you have bamboo you can attach a reciprocating compressor to a bamboo pipe to imitate a dozen egyptians (or maori) blowing hard.

I meant for making blowing air, but point taken. As far as i can tell, there is NO evidence of Maori metal working at all. Plenty of stone working though, and advanced agricultural ideas.
Also "pa" builing, which essentailly are similar to moate and bailliy style castles in 1000 AD brittian.
(correct me if im wrong there)
