Orc club

This is something silly I whittled out of a piece of (I think) Spruce that was about to be chucked on a fire. I saw all the stumps of the branches sticking out at one end and had to save it for this:

awesome, David! i love natural clubs like those. they tend to be much more menacing somehow than man made composites.

Nice......no not nice, what word do I want?
Wicked......no to playground.

"Beautifully evil" sounds about correct.

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.&&&&Remember - You are unique.............just like everybody else.

what's the difference between evil and beauty?

david, how did you carve the club so that you kept the notches while removing the bark, and some of the wood on the haft? it would look like you could easily slip and cut off both bark and nub.

Nice!  I have seen pictures of Native American clubs that look just like that, made from birch saplings.

The wood had been dried for some time for burning. The bark peeled away with a little persuasion. I thinned the handle to about half the original thickness to concentrate the weight at the head using lots of little feathering cuts from my kukhri. I left the base of the handle flared for a secure grip. I used a hacksaw and rasp to shape the various branch stumps into points.
