Cool! Are they garden stakes or did you collect the shafts?

nice arrows, man. like the bone points. i find that for wood arrows from a primitive bow straight enough is straight enough. you might try to get your transition bt point and arrow smoother bc it will help with penetration. pine pitch helps even it out there. good work.

Excellant job on the arrows and the ax.  Did you peck and grind the celt?  Have you cut anything down with it?  What kind of stone is it?  I am working on a piece of greenstone, I peck and grind for an hour or so each morning, I expect to finish about this time next month.  Bill

Wow, those look excellent!  One thing though, I can't help but notice that the notching on the bottom sticks out and then slopes backward, I think if you showed those to a game warden he would call them barbed and most places that is illegal.  I think the rule is the base of the head cannot be sloped on less than a 45 degree angle if I am saying that right.  In otherwords, straight across or curved upward.
I gotta get some bone and give it a go!
Did you make those Abo or did you use a hacksaw and belt sander?  I'm not really sure how they did it abo, as it would be pretty tedious on sandstone, you could almost do slate as fast I would think, and you would still require a shard of knappable stone or glass to cut the grooves to control the split.

thanks!

it was pretty much that shape when i found it so all i had to do was peck the edges ,grind the blade and polish it

and i used a sander for the arrow heads Grin

How sharp do bone points get? I've always been curious about that.
