just found out they also sold stingray barbs- would those be any use in making arrow tips?

Agate will make a great arrow point, that being said, the two examples shown do not look all that well made.  The edge should be one straight line, it should look serrated, the finer the serrations, the better.  Second, it did not say how thick they were, most arrows are 11/32, (about 8mm), so the point is going to have to be pretty thin to mount correctly.  And third, barbed points are illegal in most states.  If you are going to make arrows for a display or as a neck knife, the look like they will work great.  Bill

3 Rivers also sells "decorator" points that are not intended for hunting.    They state clearly in the catalogue which is which.

"Bud K" sells (mostly) atrocious Chinese-made junk.   I would not trust much of anything in the catalogue for serious purposes.
