The Tab

The tab is the end of the sling. One could as well simply make a knot or let the fibers hang loose.

My variation is a bit more complicate, but it also implies more advantages. It makes the release quicker and diminishes a hard crack during the shot. The sling gets a longer life, and the slinger's health (joints) is less endangered.

Shooting with a tab also diminishes the probability of blisters on your release finger (if you do not use a toggle for release).

I wish you a lot of fun with it!

You might notice that, although it is a relatively simple sling, it requires a bit of practice to make one.

This sling has a very quick release. This effect can still be improved by using a toggle.

If you have any questions, please keep them to yourselves    Tongue  Smiley Wink

No, just kidding. Of course I will be glad to answer any question.

Hi Hubert,

ooh pretty Smiley

is the cord you use for the tab made of jute or flax? it looks like it, but i have no idea.

i'm going to have to try this with jute and thin hemp.

also, the stitching you use is very similar to a method use for binding books, but it's continuous rather than short segments (for those that know the stitching technique I'm talking about).

if you want to you could make into an article and send it to Chris or possible C_A to make it into a tutorial.

I used for these Sling Tusa silk.

Tusa seide is a wild silk. I use them

nearly even for my Slings. But one can use of course also other materials.
