I dunno-- take a slinger 1.6 m tall, let's say he has a sling 1.55 m long (unfolded, of course)-- at point of release, the length of the sling + his arm (say 60 cm ??) already means the tip of the sling is going to be moving around 2.15 m-- not counting steps, twisting of this body, etc, which may add to the distance-- assuming he's slinging sidearm or helicopter, widespread styles in the ancient world.
I'd say a lot more, say 4m btw slingers ?
