Looks great. I've been kickin' around the idea of making up somekind of club.  I've got a decent piece of maple left from where I cut the sapling down for the atlatl. May just have to dig it out and see what I can do with it.  I'd like to inlet it and put a stone in it of somekind. I'll have to hit google and see what catches my eye. Between you and Paleoarts we could arm a small primitive army with all the cool stuff you two come up with.  Wink

thanks frank Smiley

maple looks great when finished..thatd be an awesome club  .

shell would look great  inlaid in it too. or you can take some type of softer gem like turquirse and crunch it up into almost a powder and mix that with glue. and fill the hole in with  the gem/glue mix and sand it off smooth when its dry

i havent tried that but i read it over on paleoplanet

very smart looking club.

Only Thing I'd suggest for next time is to Not taper the handle quite as much.  It weakens the ability to grip it hard. Taper down to about 8 inches from the end and have that part equal thickness for a better grip Smiley

How heavy is it ?

thanks for all the replies  and questions Smiley

id take a guess and say it weighs 5 pounds and 23 inchs long.

curious aardvark is right about the handle  now that i think about it.
ill remember that next time lol

dog wood is the hardest and most dense wood that ive ever worked with.
id have no worries about this one ever breaking in battle  Wink

i cut edges of the feathers that way, i thought it might add a little more charector  lol
