I like that a lot.
It always impresses me how many different and artistic ways "primitive" peoples developed in order to inflict maximum carnage on other people.

Kinda says a lot about basic human nature dont it?

They look great, aztec! Congrats.

And yes, it seems like human fantasy does not know any limits when it's about inventing things to hurt and kill other people.

Is that real flint/obsidian in the maquahuitl? if it is, I'm impressed!

Where did you get the design for the shield?
It looks to me like a stylised sun and wave, is it?

They look really good. I cheated on my maq and used metal too. I raided a friend's hay cutting equipment, and got a dozen blades from a swather (picture a riding lawn mower with an 18 foot cutting bar, if you don't know what I mean).

What did you use?

And do you have any pictures of the back side of your shield? I'd like to see how you hang on to it.

two leather straps atached with tacks and epoxy
the strap on the left is loser so i can fit the thinker part of my arm in it and   the right strap is flatter for my hand to grip

Do you have any idea how the strapping was done "in period?" That adds such a good historical touch to things, and adds to your knowledge.
