Looks a bit Greek to me....

Some Palestinians slinging. This position looks kinda Greek to me, although they are about to use a helicopter throw. I guess they are seating their ammo after loading it.

Definitely helicopter with the 'posing for the camera' starting position.

So maybe the Greeks did the helicopter thing?

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.&&&&Remember - You are unique.............just like everybody else.

I'm fairly sure this is a description of the helicopter: Virgil, Aeneid 9.586-589:
