You now have a completely functional sling. The following steps are not necessary but I highly recommend them.

Grab a thinner string  and make the following pattern.

Keep everything tight and it should look like this. Pull on the larger string so the knot closes and cut.

There you have it finished.

This desin has served me well during my slinging. Drop a line in the forum if you try it. Any improvments in the design are always welcome.

I agree  very well laid out instructions.  I like the way you do the pouch, I've never done one like that before.

Wow, ingenious solution to the problem of rocks slipping out of a split due to a rounded or simply too small split!
What thickness is the Nylon you used? I believe it could work with sisal or hemp as well?
i'm gonna try this, first with three, and then, if it works, with 6 to get that true Baelaeric weapon-feel to it. Oh, is there any evidence for or against the Baelaerics using this method to increase split pouch area?

Regards,

Hornblower

Hellow Hhornblower, thank you for beeing intrested in making one of my slings. I'll adress all of your questions.

I don't recall the diameter, #18 maybe?  I bought a really big nylon roll a long time ago and still have some left. I'll post a picture that might help you.

Any type of natural fiber is just fine. Nylon is my personal preference but you can use whatever you like.

Unless you are using very thin cords, stick with a three strand. It keeps everything simpler

This might help you with the diameter. That's a pilot pen next to the cord
