I'm more a "leverage artillery" person than a slinger, though trebuchets do use slings. I did design my own sling for hurling balls (I mostly use tennis balls or baseballs) with trebs.  It's been used with success by some other folks.

I joined the forum to post some advice on the trebuchet construction question.

Resident of Los Angeles, retired, involved in trebs since about '03.

Welcome to the beamless trebuchet users forum. Please post some pictures and details of your trebs with beams.

Hey, Ausieslinger, how'd I ignore your post? Must be that CRS creeping up on me.

Are you acquainted with any of the Grey Company members? They are one of the influences that got me into hurling.

Didn't think there was a lot of interest in trebs here. The sling is a part of the mechanism, not the whole deal. However, I have a ton (that's a US, not metric) of photos.

Here's one of RDX, a "whipper", which is a 21st century style of treb.
