new grip and release tech not mine but shown to me  by a freind
the retention string is held in place by two loops over the first two fingers of the hand. the release string also has a loop intended to go on the first joint of the pinky finger.
I have tried it It works definly produces a wide grip. I am still a fan of the wrist loop but just thought i would share

I have used a double-loop bowline (or better, a double-loop perfection knot) and put the loops over adjacent fingers.  Works nice.  But I never thought of putting a loop on the release cord.  Just straighten your pinky and off it goes?

I agree that is what I thought but it
works once you get used to the new system. It all seems just to be a manner of prefernce any way lol
