Hi Tirechaille,

I live in Northern Germany not far from the Danish border near the Sea. People here do not have the slightest idea of slinging. The bow is much more popular here, though a sport for few, too. They hae a famous range for bows not far away from my home.
So slingign.org is very important for me for getting in contact to fellow enthusiasts.
It is interesting that Caesar mentiones that besides the Gauls the Germans used the sling. In my region I have never seen any evidence for the sling in former times, and I visited many museums and archeological sites. Arrows have been found from about 10.000 B.C. on but no slings or sling stones.

I look forward to your pictures.

Hello funda iucunda,

You are probably right, and I wrote too fast... Or my memory begins to be absolutely unreliable. I tried to find back something about Germans using slings - And I failed. Neither J.Caesar nor Tacite seem to have written anything about it.

Entschuldigung !
