Net sling?
Apr 2nd, 2007 at 1:22pm

Hey all,

I been trying to make a netting sling but continue to fail at it. The actual netting is my problem, its always to big, so it cups the projectile and never releases it. I was wondering if anybody had some helpful hits?

Thanks,

Try to use fewer mesh.
You only need a few, if each of the holes is small enough to hold your ammo.
If your ammo goes through the holes of your netted sling you need to use a smaller mesh, (a smaller stick to make the mesh and maybe a smaller needle too.)

I tried a 1" gauge and a 1/4" gauge to make these slings.  the smaller gauge has more of a cup but does not hinder the projectile.  Tony

The presented slings look really nice. But at a guess, they all seem to cause a problem with clear releasing of the projectile, more or less. It would be good, when the projectile was supported mostly by the stiffer edges of the pouch, not sinked deeply and supported by the net.

The only role of the mesh should be to keep the edges od the pouch, and not to allow the edges to get apart under the projectile preasure.

The mesh orientation on the picture 2 is more profitable than the one on the picture 1, because that is less stretchy and better keeps the edges together.

...

Hope it helps.

In the shape, structure and position of each stone, there is recorded a small piece of history. So, slinging them, we add a bit of our history to them.
