Second braided sling, #4 overall, 86.36cm total length.
As you can see things are tighter. This sling is much more accurate than the first one.
This is my work horse for my short slinging. I made the pouch shorter, the finger loop tighter and rapped suede around the end of the release cord for aesthetics.

Out slinging on a snowy day... It was tough, because the ice is covered with slushy snow, which makes moving your feet hard. I nearly tripped on this, and the snowball didn't go very far... Kind of a combination underhand throw and attmept at regaining balance...
That is an aussiepouch, by the way.
Here's another one. I made this sling myself.

After joining yesterday I decided to make a new sling, borrowing a few ideas from a few of the members here...
Vey wet and windy today, but as soon as I get a chance I'll give it a go.

Here is my first staff sling which I call 'Gorgon'. It isn't too pretty but it does the trick. The pouch for both my shepherd's sling and my staff sling is some kind of canvas-backed synthetic that I used for mock-ups, but they work so well I've just kept them as is. I plan to make my first leather pouch soon.
The Greek inscription is 'pathos mathos', the ancient origin of 'no pain, no gain'.
