I had to re-work the finger loop a bit, but mostly I just like the way this last photo came out.

I found some cotton cord in my garage a couple weeks ago.  I didn't remember having it.  The cord has almost no stretch so I thought it might make a good sling.  I put this together last night.  It was dark by the time I finished but hopefully I'll try it out tonight.

As mentioned, the cord is cotton.  I attached two pieces of the cord to one another other with barrel knots to form the pouch area.  I added a hemp whipping on each side to strengthen those connections.  And finally added a leather X-pouch that I like using.

Sling from trade with IronGoober.
Sterling job, and great to use!
I also look forward to it's long lifespan, because its looks very durable.
Cheers!

First attempt at a 7-strand Balearic.
16.5"

It was all going well until I butchered the tapering of the 'belly'...

The last photo is a 203g stone thrown from 30m that lodged itself in a dead trunk (using this sling). I thought it was rather curious.

Butchered? Hardly. That is beautiful. It's super impressive how much power you continually get from such a short sling.

It's been a productive lockdown for me in terms of making slings. Ive found myself really taken with the tematlatl sling design, plus using paracord makes for all kinds of funky colours.

Experimental woven 'Y' Sling, made from 'Pita'
Small, for throwing stones like this 64g one.
It has a border around the pouch to help prevent any slippages.
Very fast release.

Oh, that is nice.  Channeling your inner Jauke?

I really like the weave that you did for the pouch. I'm trying to figure out how you did it...

I just tested it, and I can see where he was coming from. The release is practically instantaneous with these small stones and it makes for a very different sensation to a normal sling. It's a similar feeling to a stone slipping out prematurely with a traditional sling. Where I can see the benefit, is the consistency of release. Unfortunately my design isn't working like I'd hoped and stones automatically release when I put power into the throws...
Back to the drawing board.
The pouch is also too small.

I used a needle to go through the braid, and weave the warp back and forth across the split-pouch. I then used the needle as a shuttle to carry the weft. I tried to keep it tight with my fingernail.

I think your current design is right on the bleeding edge of what could work. If there is any rocking of the stone or uneven pulling of the retention/release cords, it seems like you could get a early release, because the stone is precariously supported.  I think it would work if you just extend the pouch a cm or two.
