I wanted to try something different. 2 retention loops, 4 strands each, to a 6 strand retention cord, to a 4 strand release cord ending in a tab. Haven't tried it out yet.

That is one heck of a sling - I like green/brown tones in a sling, myself. Let us know how the dual retention loops work out.

Thanks everyone, it's nice to hear from such skilled slingmakers such as yourselves.
I really like the dual retention loop. I feel like it helps keep the cords from twisting, but it could be my imagination. It could be the thicker retention cord (I usually do 4 strand). It also wears your fingers less i.e. prevents blisters. I didn't want to cover it with leather at first, but I think I will. I like the extra padding.

I very much agree.
That sling looks really great! What is this one made of?
Also, how long did it take you?

This was made from jute. I found a green spool so I bought in on a whim.
I think this took me about 4 or 5 hours. The 6 strand braid I hadn't done before so it took me a while to learn. Weaving the pouch and the release cord was about 1.5 hours.

Yes. Actually, it is quickly becoming one of my favorites, if not my favorite. I quite like the dual retention loop, it is quite comfortable.
