Mersa, damn that was awesome.

Albion, that double split looks wicked, and that it can probably hold a stone very nicely

@Albion Slinger I hate using this slang, but it seems totally fitting here, those are dope. They look amazing. Is that a 3 strand braid or more? It's super even. I have trouble getting my slings to look that uniform.

@Albion Slinger - I'm with everyone else.  That sling looks pretty amazing!  I'm curious how you think it performs.

Thank you all for the kind words.IronGoober wrote on Aug 19th, 2020 at 11:01pm:

They are both three strand braids, but I plan on making one with five strands. On the sisal one I twisted each cord outwards before passing over, which gives it a different look. It's important to stagger the fibres at the begginning otherwise they will all end at the same time, which makes it a real challenge to keep even.joe_meadmaker wrote on Aug 19th, 2020 at 11:30pm:

I tested it yesterday, and I was very impressed by how well it held stones, combined with how clean the release was. It seems to offer the best of both worlds, between a split-pouch, and a cupped pouch, as it's rest state is flat, and it cups slightly as it opens wider. I really like it.

After re-braiding many tassels, I've begun to get a bit irritated by their high maintenance. For really light slings I don't see the benefit of having them, so I changed the end of the slings to this.
I've said previously that I'm not a fan of release knots, but I'm gaining a bit of a soft spot for them again in this application.
Now they are silent, have good grip, and little/no maintenance.
I also love how well a three strand flat-braid transitions to 3-ply twining.

Albion you might want to look into Chamorro sling designs!
I remember Pikaru in particular made some nice models.

Awesome man!  Maybe you need to start a nail into a board, and then throw the board into the air. Cheesy

I did actually try and make one at some point, but I didn't quite get how to bind the pouch together.
Those slings can certainly be aesthetically pleasing.

Ah. That was satisfying to watch.  Mersa, I think you should get a better repository of all of your hits so they can all easily be watched.
