You must really be creating a large collection with your quest in sling design.

Y slings are definitely on my list to make, especially after your experience of them.
Keep up the great experimenting spirit!

Over the weekend, I lost my first sling to Lake Superior. I was pretty bummed about it, but after making this beauty I dont feel as bad anymore.

Awesome stuff Mersa! I should try an aerial target hit sometime.

I was pumping my fist in the air as I watched that aerial hit.  That looked so smooth.

Lost your first sling in Lake Superior?  That's a story you need to tell now. Smiley

So I was on this strange sidewalk pier thing on the side of the Great Lake, and I thought "Hey, I should see how far I can throw a lake rock with my sling!"
(This sling was made of rope I had spun from elm bark, and a rag as the pouch. Very ghetto.)

I wound up and released, and the rope broke! Sling flew 15 feet into the lake, and the rock soared straight up into the air! Almost hit my brother.

Was pretty bummed about it, but now that I have this new sling it doesnt seem so bad anymore  Wink

Experimental double-split pouch.
I haven't seen this pouch design before, so I thought I'd give it a try. It seems quite practical.
Speed test in manila and better quality one in sisal.
