Yeah they’re pretty nice, still need to add a Balaeric Sling to the collection, and waiting on a 2019 Sith arrival from CA.

Love the patina on my MERSA

That's a sick Peruvian.
I always admired those slings but never commited to the 16 and 24 strand braids. Let alone the weaving!!!!

Beautiful stuff being posted.  I think every time someone posts a picture of a sling, my first thought is, "I want one of those!". Cheesy

Wow! Mine pale in comparison.

I finally brought my first sling up to the standard of the second, replacing the tiny cupped pouch with a much bigger, not-so-cupped pouch.

As you can see, I had a nice selection of river rocks to practice with.

Made a really simple sling out of willow bark. 2 ply, 3 strand pouch and weaved it with strips. It slings really well for how quick you can make one, it took about 50 minutes. I am confident it can take down a pheasant. The only tool one would need to make it is an edged/sharp stone for removing the outer bark and cutting the strips. The cordage is stronger than I thought. I have thrown about 50 times with it and it is still holding up well. It is my first try at one, the next one is going to be more refined but first I want to sling this one till it breaks to see how much it can handle.

Some great slings here.

Jauke, that willow sling certainly has that 'survival' look to it!
Have you tried flat braids with the willow?

I love the look of traditional materials but I can’t get over the performance of modern materials.
Very nice to have the skills to make that from next to nothing, it’s satisfying learning skills from the past.
