25", 1.57oz, Sling.
Balearic style braid, hemp, wax-soaked, with a sisal tassel.
Uses up almost exactly 1 spool of 20lb hemp cord.
(I only had multi-coloured cord on hand, and so it's a bit colourful for my liking)
Completed sling is completely waterproof, has no elasticity, extremely resistant against abrasion, it's not hard on the hands, its thorn-proof, and I find It has very good handling characteristics.
I highly recommend giving this a try.

A manila (abaca) fibre sling I'm working on, and my linen rockman sling with kevlar reinforced cracker. Apologies as it won't let me put it the right way up  Angry

More pictures coming when the manila balaeric is finished!

I agree, very nicely done indeed.
I'm looking forward to seeing the abaca Balearic complete, as it looks as though you have done a sterling job so far.

Manila sling complete. 24'' length with 6'' pouch. Leather cover fingerloop and pouch, with kevlar reinforced tassel.

Already shaping up to be a favourite at least from throwing a few tennis balls around. Very sturdy pouch and feels surprisingly light for a balaeric sling. May be because I took quite an aggressive taper on the retention cord but I think the material itself is actually quite light.

It's a little bit rough though, may mandate electrical tape index finger covering. Might soak it to make it softer and less stiff.

After tweaking and testing for 10 months and making more than 60 prototypes made from paper, cloth, leather from an old couch, and various plastics (even one made from a Dorito’s bag!), I am ready to say my asymmetric tennis ball sling design is nearing the finish line:
Here’s the end result:
-Hand-stitched leather pouch custom sized for tennis balls
-425 paracord cordage with hand-stitched eyelets
-Self-adjusting leather finger loop made from excess pouch leather
-Metal grommets reinforcing all the holes in the leather.
-Optional replaceable bullwhip-style cracker on the release cord (not shown)
-High-contrast features on the release cord and flat side of the pouch to prevent accidentally grabbing the retention cord during reloads

I bought a lot of tools and learned a lot of new skills to get to this version of the sling. I made a bullwhip just to study the supersonic crack. I custom built a paracord hot knife to get clean edges on the cords. I bought an eyelet press and various leatherworking tools. Two of the prototypes went to the bottom of a lake, were recovered, and continue to launch tennis balls to this day... This design is rock solid and each sling should last for years.

Behold... my masterpiece!
