First attempt at sewing leather on a sling. Hemp cordage and a piece of scrap suede. Next time, I might actually pay attention to the stitch pattern and aesthetics, but I really like the way it slings

@Morphy: The leather is from a pack of suede scraps they sell by the pound at Hobby Lobby, (which is a big craft store here in the US for those who have never seen one). I used an acrylic based leather conditioner (which says “don’t use on suede” on the bottle

) for waterproofing, because I get a lot of dog slobber on my ammo. The acrylic stiffens it up a bit, but I don’t care about keeping the suede soft because it’s not being used for upholstery, and it functions just fine as a sling

Thanks. I do try to not have to make them all that often, since I'd rather be throwing than making, so I tend to look for stuff that will last a while. My other sling is about three years old, and I used 80# fishing line to make it.

I think this one should last at least that long.
