I'm not sure what you mean Walter? I like tabs because they give such a nice release. This tab is a bit longer than usual because I want to experiment with different cord position.

By release do you mean just a bare cord vs something like a tab?

Ahh gotcha. I think they both can work well but it seems like leather holds on to moisture longer than a woven tab, especially if the woven tab is using synthetic fiber.

This is especially a problem when using vertical styles like the figure 8 because the sling tab is constantly hitting the ground. Any dew or latent moisture eventually absorbs into the tab and can throw off the release timing a bit.

Probably some type of material that releases cleanly and absorbs no moisture would be ideal for a tab.
