walter...that is kind of cool....built a small stick one once and put a grass thatched roof on, got pretty decent at crafting those types of roofs from grass and fronds.

There's some *really* nice log cabins these days.  Give me 20 acres and a decent cabin up in the mountains and no one would ever see me again. I would just sit up there braiding my slings, making my bows and fish for trout. Life would be good.  Wink Maybe have a nice little garden... Man... That's the life.

I feel like we are getting really off topic. I’ll make a thread in other topics for us to continue this seemingly common log cabin goal of slingers.

New 30'' rockman sling made from 1.5mm all black polypropylene. It has a woven finger loop. The retention cord is mostly 3x2. Release cord is 6x2 tapered down to 3x2. It's skinny and lightweight, made for all weather comfortable and easy slinging.

Balearic style sling made from sisal twine, length 24''.

I tried using the rough side of leather on the pouch this time but not tried it out yet to see if it's better. This is motivated by lacklustre reliability on smooth beach pebbles.

I was trying a different method of splicing cords in this time so the pouch arms aren't as thick as I would usually do.

I also have a full fibre balearic sling on the way, of which I'm currently about 70% complete and it's looking pretty good.

Woven pouch sisal sling of length about 27''.

This was quite difficult to make, initially I thought the woven part might not be possible with sisal but it works with some effort. It turned out pretty nice in the end and has a decent cupping to it.I would probably use a different material next time though. Sisal and weaving are not natural friends!

This and the above sling are also pending leather lined fingerloops for extra comfort   Cool

Damn nice slings. I'm thinking I might need to get a Luis sling...

JudoP, excuse me if I missed something but are you making your own cord from sisal fibers or commercial string?
