Current slings in possession. Top down

Small split pouch single strand dyneema. Unused....ready for departure.

My all time favourite split pouch single strand dyneema 27inch. This is my first sling , well the same bit of cord retied several times over the last 18 months.

Spliced 1.5mm dyneema split pouch frame with dyneema weave. Secondary sling I don't use much but keep in my car and comes out on odd occasion where I don't have my primary sling.

Decorative sling, kangaroo leather 6 strand round braid with rabbits fur pouch pocket, lucky rabbits foot handle and hemp and leather whipping.

My current arsenal, Short sling is 26.5 inches for an idea, really liking longer slings now so I made my first twisted string one that sits on the ground with a little slack hold my arms down by the side and the long paracord one is shortened from one that came up to my throat, it really hurled stones far but was abit cumbersome , still quite long though but have not found it harder to be accurate after a few days getting acquainted and a different technique (spinning it for quite a while, and pretending to release but keeping it in the pouch until it goes click in my head and just feels right, then if my follow through is good it goes very close, it's like as soon as I release it I can tell how good the shot was so I do pretend releases to gauge when and how to let go??? Hard to explain). The pile are dead slings from good ole times

Remembered my girlfriend got video of me slinging into the lake in Koli. Helicopter using one of C_A's 3D printed slings and an icy rock from the shore. Very low energy as I was aiming at a lump of ice on a wooden pole which was pretty close to the shore and I didn't want to slip over. With a big coat on and being very out of practice, it took an embarrassingly long time to hit the ice. I really can't wait to get back to proper practice but that's going to be quite a while Sad

Main 2 slings, hemp, about as long as my arm and hand fully extended. 160g rock.
...
Above: flat braid with each strand group individually braided
Below: normal round braid with each strand group loose
...
...
...
clay ammo
...
rock bag with cotton liner just big enough to fill it completely with rocks and still walk comfortably
...
220g artillery, the largest I throw with these slings

If you do and you aim for consistency by weighing every projectile you make, keep in mind that wet clay weighs a lot more than dried clay. If you want 130 g projectiles you must make them about 160 g when they're wet, and that is just after air drying. I don't know how much ligher they get after they're furnaced but presumably even more

First try at a more authentic looking Balearic sling

...
...
...

5 strand-braid, sisal, not in fibre but twine, added 8 extra strands gradually when thickening towards the pouch and for the pouch. I still have to manage the pouch overlap more correctly and will do so on the next one after this one. It holds tennisballs and big rocks perfectly, better than my other slings.

Soon I will receive a real Balearic sling from Luis Pons Livermore. I don't intend to use that one except sparsely and just keep it as a collectible, but it'll give me a better impression of what a real one is like. Probably a lot smoother, more refined and accurate still. But I am really growing to like the thicker split pouch design and the thick taper towards the pouch. Lately I've been throwing larger rocks more and more and these heavier Balearic slings just throw them so much more confidently in my experience.

I know what you mean. Some of my earlier slings seem down right flimsy now. I got an Apache sling from JudoP which could well be the sturdiest sling I have. Nice thick cords and really feels like I could put anything in it and it would be fine.
