I think I also like the one with black better.
I find I do like slings with light colors a lot once they get dirty lol

Picture is a little blurry but this is a simple sling I made the other day. First one in a long time.

Yes indeed sir. That be jute. I like it but want to give it some real use before deciding if it's a good fiber for my needs. Is it just me or does jute sometimes feel brittle and weak?
Btw, thanks Huntsman.

You're welcome! It's not just you Morphy. Jute is considered a soft fiber and thus is brittle and weak by nature

A 31.5 inch Balearic all natural sling. The longest I've ever made for a customer, sent to Barcelona, Spain.

Nice; my favorite color too
This is what the tail will probably look like after an hour of slinging.
At least it happened to one of mine, which is why i've gone to using a detachable popper

Ya the whip breaking is a bugger. The above sling I made is unfortunately just going to be a wall hanger to be looked at which is why I didn't put the dacron whip on like I normally do
I'd like to see your detachable popper if you have some photos walter that would be neat to see how you do it.
Also thanks for the compliments walter and Tomas!

I have to admit it's an ingenious way of making a replaceable whip with all natural materials. I just wish there was a way to make the loop where the whip connects seamless without binding, but I understand that is reserved for the finger loop and you can't have both
Thanks walter!

You could try to splice the braid, it should be feasible with some pointed tool or crocheting hook or other stuff :p

If you figure out how to do that please share. I would love to know how you accomplished the splice. I cannot figure it out for the life of me
