Slinging Rocks!

Top picture: a variant of my best sling, but with flat braided jute cords.
The 2nd and 3rd from top are modified slings adapted to my new slinging place. Especially the cradle sling is very powerful for distance (120 cm, = about 4 ft) or tree-branch-explosion (impressive sound) shots. The accuracy and safety against loosing ammo are great, although I must say that my accuracy improved in general. Because in the new slinging place there are no people like at the lake I can concentrate more on slinging and not watching for walkers. Therefore my throws are more accurate now.
The last sling has no big attachment knots or whipping at the retention cord near the pouch or the loop. Braiding was started from the loop (8 strand flat), thereafter strands were joined, short strands tapered out, then I continued with a 4(x2) strand round braid. Some inches before the pouch the strands continued unbraided, were then attached to the pouch by Pikaru´s method in two points and braided back around the loose-strand core as a 8-, then 6-, then 4-strand round braid (tapered strands were hidden in the core). At the end I used only two strands that were braided by alternating whipping around the core and fixed by a small, nearly invisible knot.
