This one is made out of some scrunchy lacy scarf material. Snaps out like a jackknife and loud too!

Thanks! I prefer this to a regular finger loop cause it spreads the tension over my whole hand instead of one single finger. Too bad it doesn't make me any more accurate!!

A collection of my most recent or favourite slings Smiley

Left:
Teg Starfish sling made of jute. Very happy with this, might be my new favourite sling. Grips tennis ball size projectiles very snugly. Pouch was a little bit messy as it was my first go but it works well enough Smiley

Top Middle:
Balearic style sling made of sisal (I've decided I hate working with sisal), split is reinforced with leather. Not planning on using it much, just wanted the experience of making a Balearic style sling from entirely natural materials.

Right:
Paracord sling with leather pouch. Pouch is made from the 6 hole template and feels very secure.

Bottom Middle:
Woven nylon sling. Heavy duty, built for a long life expectancy. Near the tip of the release cord, it's doubled over and secured (with an elastic band for now until I decide on a more permanent fixing, but the band hold firmly enough) with a thinner and shorter cord passed though for the tassel. I've found my nylon slings hardly wear, but if it does, I can just slip a new cord in (only has to be about 4-5 inches long) as a suitable replacement.
Can sling tennis balls with it, but it excels with smaller stones and (although I don't have any yet) I think it would be brilliant for lead glandes.
I love this one in particular because it's so flexible I can stuff it in my back pocket and take it everywhere without it standing out (it's so flat!), and it's ready to use instantly.

Very beautyful slings here, guys.
I like especially the Teg starfish sling. Great design, that I still doubt to be able to make.

And thanks to all of you for the postings about my slings.

Last week my wife surprised me by giving me two leather bags, she considered too used-looking.
So when I came home after work I found them already deconstructed prepared for me. First I didn`t
want to post a picture, thinking it would be OT, but hey, we`re slingers, and looking concentrated at the picture you`ll see a lot of pouches
Wink

Well, before starting to make new slings I re-braided some older ones. When I started sling-making I usually made the cords too short (I haven`t found my personal technique yet). Now sometimes I take an older sling, cut the cord ends and braid in some longer strands or - in case of single strand synthetic cords - I simply attach a piece of cord.

A hybrid of a flat whipping-attached leather pouch and an apache style sling. The cords are again Spleitex (Polypropylene with hemp color and feeling, but without the typical hemp-smell, stronger and waterproof).

2 sewn pouches in Môn Slinger - style, 1 Captain Paul, unfinished yet and one like seen on the slingmoore.com page. The 3 finished slings here and the one in the previous post are already "field tested" and sling very good.

Another sling made of handbag-leather and jute cords. Retention side with 8 cords as a 4-strand round braid, near the pouch 4 cords added to form then 3 4-strand braids, release side with 6 strands changing after every approx. 1/2 ft as 4-strand round braid and 3-strand flat braid. The pouch is slightly cupped. Sewings with cotton twine.

Those are some great looking slings(I quite like the very last one)! I ask which pouch template you found worked best?

I´m glad you like my slings. The last one has the biggest pouch, so it worked better with egg-sized stones (with smaller stones the weight ratio of ammo vs. pouch and release cord caused a later release). The other ones worked with smaller stones, too. All of them worked very well. The white Môn Slinger - style sling is more difficult to load, cause of the cord attachment below the upper pouch side level. The stone tends to fall out when loading. But when the pouch is folded it holds the ammo securely and due to the lightweight construction release is no problem. I couldn`t note a big difference between the pouch designs. For distance shots the best of the 3 last mentioned is the white Môn Slinger - style sling followed by the brown one and on the last place the slingmoore design. But this was due to different cord lengths.

The Captain Paul sling is still without cords, but the pouch seems too cupped to me for a good release. And of the last one (that one you liked most) I´ll have to wet and then dry the cords, so they become softer. I do this with all of my natural fiber slings, so the cords loose their stiffness and after the water treatment release much better.

Right on man! I think that's interesting to use water on the natural fibers. Hot or cold water?

Cold or room temperature water. Wet the braided cords completely, then stretch them once by pulling and let them dry. Wet fibers feel stiffer than before, but when completely dried, they become soft.
