Okay, here's a pic of (one of) my son's Christmas Presents.  I'll post his wife's when I'm done with it.

It is made of blue and white Paracord with a semi-split pouch and handles tennis balls like a dream, even though I originally thought that the pouch was too small for that.  I guess that paracord is grippier(is that even a word?) than I thought..

Here is a new sling I made, this is just a prototype to see if it would work. I want to make it with a leather pouch, but I decided first to use inner tubing to see if it would work. It works much better than expected, especially for snowballs and tennisballs. I don't even think I am going to use leather as the innertubing is good enough for now.

(sorry for the bad qual pic, there must have been some vapour on the lens or something.

Here's another fast made sling, ... just cut some leather strips and make a hole in each one, some glue, tie a cord and your done. Never drops a rock unwillingly.

I ought to make an innertube sling. It's definitely a lot more water resistant than leather, which makes it great for snowballs.

Good slings guys.

Yes you should!  They are super awesome and my favorite type of pouching material.

And fortunately my mom was cleaning out the grage yesterday and was throwing out an old flat tractor innertube. SCORE!

Unlimited pouches and probably a quiver in that innertubes future.  Smiley

Here's a sling I finished recently.
I call slings like this, "Frankenstine" slings because I took apart an old not so nice sling to make this much better working model.

White Mason line cords and tarred bank line. Four strand round braid and the mesh is from an old laundry bag. 23" long and throws pretty well.

Hey nice work!  I tried to use laundry bag material once for a pouch but it tore too easily.  I never even got to throw anything with it.  I thought I might double layer it, but I hate sewing so I didn't bother.  After seeing this one though, I might have to try again...

Dan, Nice idea. I don't know how big it is but it looks like it could be used to throw water balloons.

The pouch is 6.5 inches by 3 inches.

It's surprisingly strong mesh, very difficult to tear, esspically the way I attached it to the sling. Initially I was just going to pull the cords through the holes but that was way too much work for a braided sling.

So I took a piece of bank line and just weaved it through the hole and around the cord, through the hole, around the cord, and repeat until you come all the way around the pouch.

I like the way it looks and it works great for snowballs because its so water resistant.

I'll probably make a couple more with some paracord instead and then use the rest of the bag to make a ghillie 'cape' for my head and shoulders.

I've also been expierimenting a bit with simple braiding patterns and they look way cooler in real life.

Keeps my slings from being mundane.

In the past days I made some new slings. First I finished this shepherd sling from jute.

Friday (7th) this one was ready to use. It´s a peruvian style split pouch sling with 4 strand round braided cords, waxed finger loop and some glue added on the inside of the pouch to prevent abrasion.

Still not having paracord two days ago I tried some poly-whatever-cord to make this one, strongly inspired by the sling from Pikåru (see page 206, Dec. 3rd). Well, I didn`t reach the original, but it slings very well.

The same day I finished this woven jute-pouch in the style of middle eastern shepherd slings ...

... and yesterday I attached and braided the 4 strand round braided cotton-cords. I decided to make a retention-disc instead of a fingerloop. The first throws fell a bit strange, but after having got used to it, I´ve been positively surprised by the performance of this sling. The pouch holds the ammo very secure, but allows a smooth release. This sling is very good at power/distance shots as well as for accuracy. Since my registration on slinging.org, I improved my accuracy (at least the left-right-one) and hit a tree from about 10-15m, more or less in a height of 1,5-2,5m.
