I like the small split/hole in the pouch. I bet it probably cups around a rock quite nicely, eh?

Yea it does. I was using a lot of pre-made perfectly circular cement ammo at the time and that was my sling of choice. They would fall out of my other ones as often as not.

Thanks for all the comments on the sling guys, I'm going to try to get a video of me using it at some point. Hopefully I can actually hit something. Smiley

Introduction and favourite sling

Hi all,
I'm new to the forum, after recently reviving a childhood interest in slings. Thanks to all of you for sharing your expertise. I'll paste here a couple of photos of my current favourite sling, which is made entirely of jute. The chords and pouch are all made of continuous cords, and the pouch is made of an additional piece for the weave. I incorporated the loose ends of the weave into four-strand braids of the release and retention cords.

Cheers from New Brunswick, Canada!

This is my second sling. It's quite cheap, just a basic bit of leather and some cord, but it's a huge step up from the shoelace/cloth sling I made last night. I've got tons of paracord, which I'm going to use to braid another sling without a leather pouch. I'm hoping to get good enough to braid up one for my older sister and brother.  Smiley
