Timann-sling #1/2010 was made today.  A  slim Rockman-type sling in a nice pocket-friendly size.  27" Hemp 4-strand round braid with jute pouch and West Coast whippings.

My first Andean sling, and also one of the most complex in my collection thus far. It measures 33 1/2" (85 cm) from mid-pouch to release knot, and is made from acrylic yarn. Andean slings are fun, I think I'll make one a bit longer, and with a 16-strand round braid for the cords, rather than the 4-strand braid pattern I used on this one. :3

Thats bang-on, Chris. Any chance of you doing a King Tut with a deer woven pouch? I think that would be awesome.

thanks, David. yeah, i mean it's definitely possible. just a hell of a lot of work. maybe if you limit the number of strands you weave around, that would make it easier and not use quite as much leather. as is, i used a lace about 8' long and 1/8" wide cut from a single piece of hide about the size of my palm.

Why thank you   Cheesy

The guide I used is in the link below, labeled as a Peruvian sling:
http://www.slinging.org/wiki/index.php?title=Methods_of_making_Slings_%28Modern_...

The only part where I deviated from the guide is the braid I used for the release and retention cords. Even then, I only used a 4-strand braid, as opposed to the 16-strand braid used in the guide.

Cool
