I'm using photobucket for more than 2 years now...

If I remember, Photobucket will delete any items that have not been looked at for six months.  So if you use Photobucket (or other services) either be prepared to scan through your album periodically, or have backup copies.

Now that we can upload our own pictures to Slinging.org, I think doing so is best.

as far as I know the only limitations are pic size in pixels and MB, 1GB of storage space and 10GB bandwidth Huh

But of course, keeping money in your own pocket is much better than carrying them in someone else's Grin

Cool, I will try sending them to Chris...Hey Willeke, I don't suppose you have a quick and easy way to braid a loop into both ends of a cord do you?

Anyway, Aussieslinger I think I have enough thread left to braid a couple more cords if you want to try them, what length do you prefer?

Thank for the offer but it I was just curious whether there was some intrinsic superiority in braided cords.

Tying a cord on would result with a knot near the pouch which may get in the way of the ammo at release.  Braiding a cord would have no such problem. Roll Eyes

Lupis,
There are a few tricks in braiding that will look like you have made a loop at both ends, but non that are easy to explain and still strong.
The best I can do for you now, twist 2 of your strings and bend them into a loop, and splice the other 2 ends in from the other side, see: http://knopen.ismijnhobby.nl/tables/twist_to_braid_table.html
That is if you braid with 4 strands.
It will be stronger if you go on with splicing in into the braid below the loop.
You can do the same when you work with more or fewer strands, but of those I do not know an explanation on the web.
You can also splice the ends into the braid, you get the same results as Justknot has in his braided sling tutorial, http://slinging.org/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1170457410, third photo, but that is not easy to explain.

Greetings  Mordechaj,

Thanks a million for your slings which arrived yesterday. I will have to wait till the WE to try them because I need to go to the park otherwise I am not confident that the neighbours windows will survive. I imagine the loop must go around the wrist. I have always made slings to have a loop for the middle finger and have never used a split pouch before. Something new. It always amazes me how much variety there is in something as simple as a sling.

Regards,

Aussieslinger

yes, they are wrist strapped, and i think that both of them should transferr much power, the shorter one because of her low profile, and the longer one because of her lenght.

tell me how do they preform Smiley

just imagine a fingerloop big enough to get your wrist trough.
so you get it over your wrist, and hold the cord in your palm between the thumb and the pointing finger, same as and release cord (but in other direction). or if you like wider grip you can move the anchor cord between your fingers lower in the wrist.

it helps in better distribution of stress (not all on just one finger).

I am brand new to all of this, but very interested I enjoy learning about uncommon weapons and such. If you still have any left i would really be thankful for one, i want to make/use a sling but really have no idea of where to start. So if you have any left please include me, if not then thanks anyway.
