Forget soaking the leather, especially for your first sling, just not necesary. Slings are really simple devices and just about anything will actually work provided it holds the ammunition securely especially stones which being uneven and rough textured sit well even in a flat pouch (many slingers even call it a patch rather than pouch).

PM me your address and I will send you one of mine, especially good for tennis balls which need to be held that little bit more securely as they tend to roll out of flat patches if the cords go slack at all.

I live in Hong Kong, so it's ok, now that you have told me the truth about pouches, I'm destined to make my own to suit myself.

Now this December I'll try to bring my cousin (who immigrated to Australia) into the habit of slinging, and if he likes it I'll give you his address in Australia to send to him. Grin

lol living in hong kong is no barrier to owning an aussie pouch. They turn up in more countries than mosquitos :-)
And are much more useful.

Aussie - bless him - will send an aussie sling anywhere :-)
And if you plan to sling on a beach with wet stones - an aussie is the best pouch to use as they don't get soggy like leather does :-)

Hello, I am very new to slinging. I am going to try to make my own sling & pouch using the tutorials/guides on this site.
