I have no idea how to soak leather to fit the size of the ammunition, and the guides don't really say if the pouch should be a bit bigger or smaller or whether it should be split in the middle or just one piece of leather...i am sore confused...
Forget soaking the leather, especially for your first sling, just not necesary. Slings are really simple devices and just about anything will actually work provided it holds the ammunition securely especially stones which being uneven and rough textured sit well even in a flat pouch (many slingers even call it a patch rather than pouch).
PM me your address and I will send you one of mine, especially good for tennis balls which need to be held that little bit more securely as they tend to roll out of flat patches if the cords go slack at all.
