Forget soaking the leather, especially for your first sling, just not necesary. Slings are really simple devices and just about anything will actually work provided it holds the ammunition securely especially stones which being uneven and rough textured sit well even in a flat pouch (many slingers even call it a patch rather than pouch).

lol living in hong kong is no barrier to owning an aussie pouch. They turn up in more countries than mosquitos :-)
And are much more useful.

And if you plan to sling on a beach with wet stones - an aussie is the best pouch to use as they don't get soggy like leather does :-)

Hello, I am very new to slinging. I am going to try to make my own sling & pouch using the tutorials/guides on this site.
