I recently started numbering them, the earlier ones are not numbered.

Which number would my pouch have? Wink

Yours was international request #9, which means the ninth actual address I received. Some people enquire first then send an address, others send send an address straight away.

To be honest it may not necessarily be the ninth one I made. I usually cut the material and glue them in batches and then punch the holes afterward. Then I just take them off the pile and put them into addressed envelopes.

I agonised over the decision whether to include the stitches or not. For my own use originally I used to make the pouches specifically to suit either golf or tennis balls. The golf ball size would work with tennis balls but was a bit unstable. However the tennis ball size had a very large gap and small balls would just fall through. For offering on the forum I wanted to make a universal design. Therefore to ensure the gap did not open I included the stitches. At the same time I also tried the super glue which gives much better results than the contact adhesive on my original pouches. Contact adhesive lets go a little in the middle due to th flicking action of the release. So now the stitches are not necessary and I personally prefer the lines of the pouch without them.

The stitches also served another function. Originally I intended to send the pouches unglued and flat packed, with detailed instructions on how to assemble them. The stitches held the two pieces in the correct relationship to make assembly as easy as possible. However who wants to get a half finished job, and perhaps people would get it wrong.Super glue is very unforgiving. If you get it wrong you often can't fix the mistake. I decided to send only finished pouches and accept that they would get a little squashed in the mail. I assume the little kinks evident in your photos straighten out in time.

Please do not credit me with undue generosity. The material I get for free, and postage is fairly inexpensive also. I am sure I get as much fun out making the pouches and teasing people with my ridiculous advertisements as you get out of using them. But much more than this, I get to correspond with and have received gifts from great people of like mind from all over the world. Some of you are now dear personal friends. I love getting on slinging.org; it's the highlight of every day.

I have to admit the getting stuff from around the world is a big buzz :-)

Had stuff from the czech republic, lithuania, hong kong and aussie land in the last few months - great fun. :-)

I came up with this simple method today. Grin I just tied it onto Aussieslinger's pouch. So, there is no knot to obstruct the projectile's path. Roll Eyes

(The size of the paint page is very big, I can't adjust it Undecided)

Thanks for the photo and diagram. That is exactly the way I attach my own cords. The only thing is that because I use synthetic cord and not cotton I melt the end of the cord. This forms a little ball on the end which prevents it slipping through the tied whipping.

I used the Bowline knot both for fixing the cords to the sling and for tying the retention loop.

Today a tragedy happend: I tried the backhand throw for the first time but accidently not only the stone went flying into the water but the sling, too! Shocked It sank down. I tried fishing it by binding a stone to my rope and slinging it into the water but I couldn't see the sling in the water so that was hopeless. Cry I still have my braided sling...

PS: Just in case: the knot had nothing to do with losing the sling. It was my grip that was unfitting for this throwing style.

No worries my friend.  Smiley

My pouches come with a guarantee so I will send you a replacement. I still have some with the stitches, if you prefer this, and I will number it 9A.

Wow, thanks! The guarantees I used to know did not include foolishness of the user. Wink

Do the stitches change anything?

Two tiny holes cracked into the last pouch. I do not really know when they appeared but I guess I damaged the pouch when I accidently smashed it into the stony ground while having a rough edged stone loaded. That was even though I had rather short cords attached to it (about arms length like the apache article recommended). I guess I am not careful enough with my slings.

Dravonk,
Many of us have had slings flying, often loved ones and sometimes lost forever.
I have been lucky so far, (knock on wood,) I have been able to pick up my slings from the ground again.
If you search the forum you might find some of those sad stories to console you.
