Which number would my pouch have?
Yours was international request #9, which means the ninth actual address I received. Some people enquire first then send an address, others send send an address straight away.
To be honest it may not necessarily be the ninth one I made. I usually cut the material and glue them in batches and then punch the holes afterward. Then I just take them off the pile and put them into addressed envelopes.
I agonised over the decision whether to include the stitches or not. For my own use originally I used to make the pouches specifically to suit either golf or tennis balls. The golf ball size would work with tennis balls but was a bit unstable. However the tennis ball size had a very large gap and small balls would just fall through. For offering on the forum I wanted to make a universal design. Therefore to ensure the gap did not open I included the stitches. At the same time I also tried the super glue which gives much better results than the contact adhesive on my original pouches. Contact adhesive lets go a little in the middle due to th flicking action of the release. So now the stitches are not necessary and I personally prefer the lines of the pouch without them.
The stitches also served another function. Originally I intended to send the pouches unglued and flat packed, with detailed instructions on how to assemble them. The stitches held the two pieces in the correct relationship to make assembly as easy as possible. However who wants to get a half finished job, and perhaps people would get it wrong.Super glue is very unforgiving. If you get it wrong you often can't fix the mistake. I decided to send only finished pouches and accept that they would get a little squashed in the mail. I assume the little kinks evident in your photos straighten out in time.
Please do not credit me with undue generosity. The material I get for free, and postage is fairly inexpensive also. I am sure I get as much fun out making the pouches and teasing people with my ridiculous advertisements as you get out of using them. But much more than this, I get to correspond with and have received gifts from great people of like mind from all over the world. Some of you are now dear personal friends. I love getting on slinging.org; it's the highlight of every day.
