siege rhyton

At the Athens Archeological museum is a silver Rhyton ( sacremental cup) that show archers and slingers defending a walled city.
It dates from about 1,600 B.C., in the Mycenean period of Greece. More than likely, the pictures on the cup commemorate the battle that the cup was being used to give thanks for.
See an image of it at tigtail.org in the proto greek-myceneaen art collection Unfortunatly, you cant see the details too good.

There are some pictures of the cup here on slinging.org too, just check out the historical gallery.

Quality is lackluster - maybe someone can track down a hi-res version?
