fig 4 or paiute

i used to be able to make paiute deadfalls, but now i tried to put one under a big rock and those stupid triggers kept on collapsing. is a fig 4 more easy to set up then a paiute in yalls opinon under heavy weight

I like the paiute. It seems to me that it is more sensative and I am not sure of the history of the figue 4 but the paiute was used by the Paiute indians so it is defendly a good design.
The key with setting a paiute is to make the cut notch (in the stick with the string) and the top of the verticle stick lay flat on each other and so the top stick does not lean to one side. Understand?

oh thats what was going wrong the  trigger kept on tilting to the left or right untill it collapsed,oh and you know the short stick that you wrap  around the vertical stick,it kept on flipping out of the way even when i put a bigger trip stick on it,how do i remedy this,
