Just 20 meters from my appartment! This is a common style beach in croatia. The city next to it is Trogir, just above Split. hey mordecaj, is that what your lake looks like?

since my lake (Jarun) is artifficial it's stones are rounder. you acctually have to look for sharper stones, if you want a buzz in the air.

but, it' more far away from me, and it's a lake, not a sea.

Beautiful spot ! I have always felt strange casting into the ocean or other large body of water. Even if Im casting over 200m, it looks like my stones are landing right in front of me. The vastness of the ocean can make people feel really small.
My favorite sling spot is a mile long lake that is about 150m wide with trees on the other side. I could sling all day there. The only problem is that there are not many good rocks handy so I need to bring my own. The trails run through wildlife preserves and motorized vehicles are prohobited so I usually end up carrying a bucket of rocks a mile or so.

But by the ocean I spent from sunrise to sunset slinging those stones. So much so that I needed to alliterate that last sentence.

I'm from the east of Holland, the City Eneschede, or at Least that's where I've been doing my things for the past 15 years or so.
I visit Croatia almost every year. Always somewhere near the beautifull coast.

Mordechaj are you from Croatia?

The best slingspot I had near my house, was just outside the city limits, between cows and horses.
There was a stoney half paved road full of smaler and bigger rocks.
But I've thrown them all!
There's just sand and really small rocks left.
All the rest (must be hundreds) are lying scattered across the fields around it...
So you can imagine how happy I was this summer.
Now I have to look for a new spot at home. cry

I'm not a student. I'm a teacher actualy...but then again aren't we all always learning every day and therefore sudents for life?...ahem Wink

True. It's hard to get an idea of the distance you've throw. At some point, this summer, I had to stop because the stones would otherwise hit the boats passing by.
Now I still don't know how far that was, but I thought it was pretty cool...
