It's been awhile; My latest project

Hellloo fellow slingers. My post have been rather few lately. Wouldn't ya'll agree Wink

My most profound apologies for that. I've hardly been slinging due to loss of safe locations. Though I have been continuing my building. Something you guys will probobly like is my latest treb. I call it Gargantu Treb.
I built it not to long ago so I'll try to add some interesting details. Questions are welcomed as always.

My first task was to build the cw box.

I then located a pivot point and made the arm.

I assembled the base frame with tounge and groove. This was my first attempt other than some scrap practice. I took out a little more meat than intended nor is it as tight as wanted.

Base is completed.

Base now has the uppers, and the diagonals. I measured the angles wrong so my they didn't fit as tight as wanted. That's what I get for not drawing any plans. Angry

And then, (drumroll please) the finished product!!!

Could some of the folks who remember me give me some updates on some of the larger things that have happened. Like gatherings, new members that are now regulars, and regulars that no longer visit.

Fun fact: I reduced visibility to about 4ft for at least 4 different houses in my neighborhood with a small amount of smokebomb caramel. I found out how to make them a little more dense. hehe

While i could not see where the projectile went its nice to see it in action!

BTW if you didnt notice (although you should have) theres the meeting up in NY october 7th for all slingers that want to come. If you havent seen that then youve only made these posts and not done anything and you like to hide under rocks!

Thats what little brothers are for, to distract the ghost while you escape before the house implodes. Shocked

Castle, what do you plan on using for counterweights?? The reason is with a trebuchet, everytime you change the weight of the projectile, you also have to change the weight of the counterweight.
In the Middle Ages, they used baskets of stone, or sheets of lead in the basket. There is a strict ratio of weight to weight.

Don't worry slingbadger. I'm very aware of that. I'm using rocks and dirt. I'm just enjoying playing around with this small of model though so I don't pay much attention to the ratio.
