Introductions area
Jul 25th, 2006 at 12:45pm

OK! Here it is - a place for new members to introduce themselves to the group, and for older types to say hello as well.

For the next little while, we're going to be trying to get a handle on the spam situation that has infected our membership list. Logins that have zero posts are now likely to removed at the end of the week, so take advantage of this section and make the first of hopefully many posts to slinging.org!

hey can you move the introduction thread from that other topic to over here so we don't have to re-re-introduce ourselves?

thanks mathias, it is good to have this area.  much less stuff over in the other topics, and keeps it a little more orderly.

I generally use a ''freestyle underhand'' cast, right now i'm using a backup sling I made from a sock, clothesline and copius amounts of duct tape.  A friend threw my faforite sling into a pond with a stone in the pocket so i'm brainstorming right now. The funny thing is, I am much more comfortable with my duct tape and clothesline sling than any other sling I've tried! Perhaps my next creation will be a MacGyver inspired sling.

Hello, Im Henry (Aquilla),
I just discovered this forum, I have been intrested in slinging since I was around 13 (around 4 years ago) but all my atempts at trying to make them have ended in injury Sad stones to the head because they dont release right is both humiliating and painful... Anyways, I have never owned a proper sling, as I am more of a do-it-yourself-r kinda guy so tips would be welcome!
I will see you around!

aquilla, have you seen the articles section of the site?  some of the slings are pretty easy to make, and look nice too.

well welcome to the gang.  i wish you many strong (and working  Wink ) slings and true glans

Brainkrieg was the name of a band on the website www.homestarrunner.com, and I don't know if there is a copyright on it. I didn't want to risk it, though.

oh i see.  i wouldn't have worried about it, as i doubt that anyone that would know of them would come looking on the slinging.org website to check to see if there was any copyright infringment going on.
