Making Tibetan slings
Jul 24th, 2006 at 7:53pm

I would like to try a Tibetan sling next but I got some questions.
How would you get a loop at each end(one for the wrist loop and one for the detachable cracker)?
And how do they make the cradle? Do the weave it or what?
Thanks

The detachable cracker end is like a finger loop.  You just tie the cracker to that.  The other end is made almost like a split pouch, the braid is divided into two smaller braid and then braided back together for a short length.

The cradle?  beats the hell out of me!  I think it is some kind of kniting method. Undecided

To be able to say how the pouches are made I would need a much better picture, about twice as big as the pouch really is would be a nice start.
Or even better, a Tibettan sling to poke and play with  Grin
