Sguy, I'm following right on your heels..!

I made another javelin with a dowel and a metal rod. The measurements are 48 inches for the dowel, 18 inches for the rod (5 inches in the wood), and duct tape to keep it from splitting. The thickness is 3/4 of an inch. The first one was about an inch thick. I know this is not entirely primitive, but this is just a proto-type to see if it will perform. The performance is alot better than my previous one (Greek Javliner). I was hittting my target area at around 20 yards with good speed. Again, I was using the Greek style throwing thong(descendant of the atlatl?)....
