Sling made to throw bolas??

I know there have been many different posts describing bolas and how to make them and such.

That being said, Has anyone ever made a sling specifically designed to throw either a 3 rock bola or a 8 rock bola(for water fowl or such). I would think that you would essentially just need a bigger pouch but has anyone ever tried it?

Looking to make my first water fowl bola in the next 2 weeks (after finals are done for this semester).

Reply #1 - Apr 18^th, 2006 at 10:01pm if i remember correctly, douglas the black posted something a while back about a chain bola he put together that worked well in a sling. i will look for the link.

When i became bored with the short range I could acheive with my 3-ball bolas i made a loop at the junction of the cords and threw it with my staff sling (after having detached the sling itself). The distance I achieved was far greater and accuracy was good too. Has anyone else tried this? I think I could only fit this bolas in the pouch of a larger specially designed sling.

well the vid could be reality but it will have to wait.
I have moved back to arkanas again. computer not here yet or most of my forge equiptment. but as soon as i have video gear again I will film a video on hurling bolas Its really not that big of a deal. just three small chains conected in the center with three 1 ounce pyrmid sinkers attached ball this up into the center of a large sling pouch then sling over head.
the small bolas each chain about 2 inches long open well
and fly directly at the target.
but any way when i get fully moved again i will make a video

This is what i basically was looking for when I started the topic, a person whom has tried w/ success and can give some type of help. A video isnt really necessary, but it would definately be awesome to see it, even tho you say its not that much of a deal
