Gender:	lead mold Feb 17^th, 2006 at 5:38am i have found a place that sells round ball molds the two sizes i see that would be best for slinging are .80" and 1.73"/44mm (golfball) wich would you all go with keep in mind this will be solid lead

The last time I bought lead I got it for 10 cents a pound at a salvage yard, so for a a .80 ball weighs just under a 1/4 pound would cost around 2 cents a ball (material cost) for me . But now comes in the cost of the mold and possibly the labor.

Willeke is right, need to cast in a well vented area (outside)

Wash hands before eating etc. Lead poisoning is relatively easy to avoid if you take the proper precautions, but it really isn't good for you when you don't so it is worth educating yourself. You must be massive to throw a ten pound stone

no, but i had to spin my body fully around in order to get it working properly. plus it didn't go very far. only about 30 ft. i got it to go maybe 20 ft using the overhead throw. i had to lift the laoded sling up off the ground with my left hand, and kindof throw it into a spin around my head. btw, i am only 5'4" and 120 to 130 pounds. not so big.
