Time to stop lurking.
I've reciently braided/cut/tied various
componant parts together into slings.
The sling pockets are optimized to throw
tennis balls. My target a tarpaulin in
the back yard. Short range for now about
15 yards.
I've just learned the figure-8
overhand and use it for most casts now.
Previously I was using greek side arm.
Here are my slings
Top to bottom
8-strand round braid (20 lb. hemp)
split into 2 4-strand round for the pocket
back to 8 strand round to finish.
36" from stopper knot to pocket center
Dynamic kern-mantle cords. (real stretch here 6-8%+)
I'll have to swap this set of cords out
Pouch 3 lengths of 5/8 nylon/polyester web.
Holes melted in ends to prevent fraying and
cord tied to web. Webbing order swapped on
each end to form pocket. Over all length of
webbing 6 in.

Polyester braid cords.
Pocket leather 6" over all. 2 cuts on each end
aproximatly 1.5 in. to divide each end of pocket
into 3 integral straps. Straps are hole punched
and cord tied to holes to form the pocket

Pocket 2 leather straps 6" over all.

via the holes to form the pocket
