what tree is it?
Feb 8th, 2006 at 12:11pm

Sometimes, us urban creatures, want to know how looks some kind of tree...  Embarrassed (speciallywhen someone name it  in english)  I came across this site visiting knifeforums>oudoor&survival forum.
http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/hort/consumer/factsheets/trees-new/index.html List is sorted by scientific and common names.
Enjoy!

The leaves look almost like oak leaves. But in all honesty, I am not sure.

It's a sad fact that here in America, the average child can name almost all of the Pokemon characters, but have no idea what the tree in the front yard is.

slingbadger- how sad it is..

That looks quite a bit like a scarlet oak. I can name a lot of trees- their density, their elasticity and general working property, the only problem is that I dont have a lot of property access to cut down some of these neat trees. Like ERC and hophornbeam- I have walked and biked by places with just massive erc or juniper trees, only that they dont want even a limb cut down for a nice bow.
