Winter slinging once again - pictures and movie.

Hi to everybody after long silence

Last sunday I had some really nice slinging snowballs time. Here is a couple of pictures (taken automaticaly from a tripod) and a short movie. I thought they could be interesting enough to post them at the forum.

On the above picture you can see the snow commet in fly.

and the movie ca 4 MB (first save on the disc, andt then open it):

In the shape, structure and position of each stone, there is recorded a small piece of history. So, slinging them, we add a bit of our history to them.

The second photo with the "comet dust" trail is pretty neat. I think these are the first actual pictures of snowball throwing we've seen after much discussion! Look at all those impact points - pretty sharp shooting for snowballs...

Yeah, Smyk is my faithful slinging buddy. Also, he think he should be on every picture

Lobohunter, slinging snowballs could be real fun, but snow must be wet in order to get the proper consistency. If snow is loose, you could become discouraged. There was a frost that day, so I had to use water from the streamlet to get snow wet. Maybe, you are going to shot some footage from your snow balling?

By now we have a horrid thaw... brrrrr...

Hello Yurek,

Great pictures and it looks like you even hit the tree a few times. Grin

It has been so windy here that I had to lower my net so I have not been slinging in more than a month.

We had an ice storm that did a lot of damage to the trees around our state. I also had to lower my net during that storm since it was getting full of ice.

But no snow Undecided

Last year I visited my brother out west and they had just had 6 feet of snow. I was able to sling a few snowballs then.

David, an ice storm could be prety good ammo supplayer, imagine, myriads of big ice eggs deropping from the sky Cheesy

Oops, though, it rather wouldn't be funny...

Tint, after seeing your videos, just you are my hero. I would love be as fit as you. Anyway, I think my accuracy is too fitful.

Bjärn, please don't take yourself as a target nevermore, we don't want to lose one of our a few slinging girls Wink

Be patient, slinging isn't a very easy skill, everyone need some time, I'm sure you will be a good slinger soon, but no hurry. Snow- or iceballs are pretty good ammo, because od their multitude. Sice you live in a snowy land, you have the ammo in abudance. In summer time I have a problem with gathering good stones.

That sling is very simple and utilitarian. It is made of medical tape, for snawballs, tennisballs or for something like that. The sling is easy and quickly adjustable.
