Good idea . Lets change the rules a bit first . Drop off both groups stark naked where there are plenty of resources and see who wins then . While the archers are still whittling their bows and arrows the slingers would be beaning them with anything that will fit into their sling pouch .
The slingers could even use thir hair to fabricate the slings . Whats a bow without the wood ? Just string
The buckelers could be made out of bark

Lo there do I see my Father , Lo there do I see my Mother , and my Sisters and my Brothers, Lo there do I see a line of my people back to the beginning, Lo they do call to me they bid me to take my place among them in the halls of Vahalla where the brave may live forever

Maryland as likely a east coast spot as any other.
Do me a favor and research national forest in the state
and what it takes to have a event permit
in most of our ciountrys natiol forest you must have over 75 to need a permit. but do some research lets find out if maryland will work.

While the archers are busy making their arrows, and the slingers are busy weaving their strings, and the spearthrowers are busy making their spears, I'll be busy lighting fire to a large swath of forest and hopping on the first vehical to happen by.

And I'll be busy with running around with a brick and knocking people out.

You can make a bow out of green wood. You can make a string out of basswood inner bark, rawhide, sinew, hair, human skin even. You can make arrows out of whatever grows straight, and they can just be sharpened/fire hardened tips with poison (many ways to get that) smeared on them. They dont need fletches.

speaking of natural poison, would it be hypothetically dangerous to eat an animal that was killed with a poison arrow? You would only eat it if it was throughly cooked but i am still guessing that it wouldnt be safe to eat...
make natural poison? besides letting a snake(poisonous of course) biting into a jar covered in thin latex(or something of that sort), how else would you get it?

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
